AC: Some of the Contributors to Collaborative 2005-2006

 

Zoe Trodd is at Harvard University, with a teaching appointment in the History and Literature department. She has degrees from Cambridge University and Harvard. She published Meteor of War: The John Brown Story (with John Stauffer) last year, and her book American Protest Literature is forthcoming with Harvard Press. She has published numerous articles on American literature and visual culture, most recently in Henry Louis Gates, Jr. and Hollis Robbins (eds), In Search of Hannah Crafts (NY: Basic Books, 2004) and Lucy Frank (ed.), Representations of Mortality in Nineteenth Century American Literature (London: Ashgate, 2005).


Beret Norman, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of German Modern Languages & Literatures at Boise State University


Shawna Ferris, at the time of this publication, is completing her doctoral degree in English and Cultural Studies at McMaster University,Ontario. Her dissertation research examines desire and transgressive sexuality, specifically within the contexts of street sex work, in Canadian literature and culture.

Barbara Rosenthal is a conceptual artist born in the Bronx in 1948, and living/working in the Manhattan artist’s complex known as Westbeth. She received a BFA from Carnegie-Mellon, 1970, an MFA from Queens College in 1973, both in painting, and has been working in photography, artists’ books and video/audio/words since 1978. She is co-director of eMediaLoft.org, teaches writing at CUNY/The College of Staten Island, and has reviewed for “Afterimage” and “The Rotkin Review."


Leah Oates has an M.F.A fro the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, a B.F.A. from the Rhode Island School of Design and is a Fullbright Fellow for graduate study at the Edinburgh College of Art in Edinburgh Scotland. Oates has exhibited in numerous venues including PS122, Open Studio Open Studio Gallery, The Islip Art Museum, The Knitting Factory, Metaphor Contemporary Art, Sara Nightingale Gallery, A Taste of Art Gallery and Real Art Ways. Oates has curated shows or projects in New York at the Organization of Independent Artists, Artists Space,and NUTUREart, Non-Profit, Inc. In the Chicago area Oates has curated shows at the Randolf Street Gallery, The Noyes Cultural Art Center and the Peace Museum. Oates has written for NY Arts Magazine an AC:Collaborative.

Jason Murison is a curator and critic who lives in Brooklyn. His current currated exhibition “The Most Splendid Apocalypse” is on view at PPOW Gallery in Chelsea. He has written for NYArts Magazine as well as several catalogue essays.

Vladimir Belogolovsky lives in the U.S. since 1989. After graduating from The Cooper Union School of Architecture in 1996 he worked for two years in Italy, Spain and Germany. Presently he is a project architect at Gensler in New York City and the US correspondent for Moscow-based Russian architectural magazine, ARX.

Victoria Wolfe is an art curator, playwrite and essayist. Recent curatorial work includes, "Dialogue with Pop: Seductive Allure of Video Glow at the Spaceworks Gallery in New York City.

Marko Stamenkovic (1977) is an art historian and curator based in Belgrade (Serbia and Montenegro). Beside exhibition-making and curatorial criticism, he is writing on issues of contemporary art and collaborates with artists, art collectives, institutions and organizations that are open to critical investment and examination of conditions for contemporary system-development in the global art world.
